CSR and capacity building

AMC provides the following core support services for branded customers and their factories.

  • Implementation support for branded customers and factories in order for the factory to reach the CSR Standard of the Customer

  • Provide both factory production floor training, and, Human Resource Management training so that the factory can manage its own CSR improvement program

  • Worker-Supervisor Communication Program. AMC has trained world-class factories in improving the working relationship between supervisors and their workers. 

  • Capacity Building in order to decrease Overtime. AMC is positioned to offer this support since our program has at its core an approach that combines productivity, profitability, and long term platform for growth and stability. 

CSR Auditing is only a small part of AMC's approach to CSR improvement at factories. Its more important to work with the factory after the Audit, to encourage and assist the top level factory factory management, including the Owner, to get buy-in to the benefits of what good CSR means for the factory's own stability and profitability.

Its about how to help the factory prepare and implement a Corrective Action Plan to improve and regain Customer Confidence. 

AMC has had success with facilitating Branded Customer's expectations with their 3rd Party Suppliers. Our Brand Supplier Program targets Owner and Department Level Managers to create the bridge between simple Awareness Next-Steps-to-be-Implemented Action Plan.

Many factories struggle with meeting even basic CSR requirements.     But what Branded and Licensed Customers expect from more advanced suppliers is a forward looking strategy that aligns well with  customer's Mission Statement as a brand.     Here we see in innovative use of solar power to cook one large brown rice pan per day for the manager's lunch. The project was used to teach the factory about renewable resources  as an introduction to recycling initiatives at the factory.

A very clean lunch hall for production workers. Very clean, with food covered, waiting for the workers to arrive.     There is a close connection between how management treats its workers and how workers treat the factory.  Truely showing respect for the workers brings to the factory huge benefits in terms of productivity and decreasing staff turnover.

Pro-active Human Resources (HR).     Productivity improvement has a natural limit to its potential. But if you train HR in best practices, and engage factory's General Affairs and Administration Departments in what their  real  Mission is (improve worker relationships and make sure there is a culture of inclusion), then productivity increases are limitless.     Asian HR personnel in particular need this type of training.

The more you train all levels throughout your organization, the more repeatable the result is, leading to higher productivity overall.     This Cleaning Team were thoroughly trained, with a complete Job Description for each part of their daily work. We illustrate one of these Job Descriptions in the adjacent photo.     Personnel of all levels enjoy being given attention, and instruction, on how to do a good job.
